How cool (and also potentially scary) would it be to have Jesus as a guest at your own wedding! The unnamed couple at the village wedding of Cana had that privilege. Jesus was the wedding guest who brought the best gift. His first miraculous sign was performed while celebrating that marriage. But far more than just attending a nuptial party, Jesus demonstrated who He was in relation to four entities: His mother, the moment, a miracle, and His men.

1	On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2	Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
3	And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine."
4	Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come."
5	His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it."
6	Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece.
7	Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them up to the brim.
8	And He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." And they took it.
9	When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.
10	And he said to him, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!"
11	This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
12	After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.

The unnamed couple at the village wedding of Cana had that privilege. Jesus was the wedding guest who brought the best gift. His first miraculous sign was performed while celebrating that marriage. But far more than just attending a nuptial party, Jesus demonstrated who He was in relation to four entities: <em>His mother, the moment, a miracle, and His men.</em></p><p>Weddings days are high stress with many details and plans culminating in one event. No details about the bride and groom are recorded in the text because they are not most important to this story, Jesus is.  What he brings to this wedding changes the disciples.  This is His first miraculous sign.  Weddings would be different if He were a guest.  Marriages would be different if He were the center of the home.</p><p>The place-We have moved geographically NNW from the Jordan River area to Galilee, which will become the headquarters for Jesus ministry.  Cana is five miles north of Jesus hometown of Nazareth and was Nathanael's hometown. </p><p>The time - It is a Wednesday.  It was almost universal that the wedding of a virgin would be on a Wednesday in this culture.  Not a Saturday, because that was the Sabbath.</p><p>The people- This is probably a very close friend or relative of Jesus family,  because both Jesus and Mary were invited and Mary seems to be working behind the scenes. </p><ol type="I"><li><strong>Jesus and His Mother </strong>(<strong>vss. 1-5</strong>)<ol type="A"> <li><strong> </strong>Historically<ol> <li>Mary has been worshipped by some</li> <li>She has been prayed to and revered</li> <li>Named the co-redemptress and co-mediatrix of the human race.</li> <li>Vatican II notes a union of mother and Son in the work of salvation<strong>.</strong></li></ol> </li> <li>Biblically<ol> <li>Jesus calls her woman.<ol type="a"><li>Not disrespectful, but polite and formal (like lady, ma'am) </li><li>Indicates a change in their relationship <ol type="i"><li>Jesus begins His public ministry</li><li>Earthly relationships won't determine His course of action.</li><li>Not just your Son, but Your Savior</li> </ol></li></ol> </li> <li>Asks her, what does your concern have to do with me? As members of a spiritual family, we seek to equip one another for service and to grow to spiritual maturity. Thus, we seek to be trained according to the Bible, which we believe is the "owner's manual" for our lives.

3. Outreach
Our desire is to go out beyond the "Christian camp" into the world to expand the kingdom of God through evangelism. We believe God has given every Christian a "sphere of influence" in which to make an impact for Christ.

Our Beliefs

We Believe that there is one living and true GOD, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

We Believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.

We Believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in Holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.

We Believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.

We Believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teaching, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal, visible return to earth.

We Believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all that believe in Jesus Christ for ministry.

We Believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide.

We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We Believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice and, therefore, are under condemnation; that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit, those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

We Believe that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and empowers the believers for service, often subsequent to regeneration.

We Believe in the universal church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head, and all regenerated persons are members.

We Believe that Jesus committed two ordinances to the church: 1) Baptism and, 2) the Lord's Supper. We believe in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers.

We Believe also in the laying on of hands for baptism of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders, and deacons, and receiving from the Holy Spirit through the believer the gift of healing.

We Believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to the earth and the establishing of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.

We Believe in what is termed the Apostles Creed as embodying the fundamental facts of Christian faith.
